Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} C. Ds. C. Ds/Hdq. C. Ds/Tubes C. Ds/X 602 BY.3/G.26.4.38. WRAITH - REAR AXLE TUBES. Referring to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}19/G.21.4.38 pointing out carbon steel rear axle tubes were fitted to the 10,000 miles car and have proved to be satisfactory, before actually ordering carbon steel tubes I should like to know whether any bumper tests have been carried out with this material. I am not prejudiced against the carbon steel parts, but I do not consider we should make the change purely on the results of one 10,000 miles test. BY, | ||
