WRAITH - REAR AXLE TUBES.

Replying to Ry3/G.26.4.38., carbon steel axle tubes have not been bumped as yet. We are putting a pair on the bump chassis forthwith. At the same time it is necessary to point out that we have never succeeded in failing Bentley axle tubes on the bump, though considerable trouble was experienced in service.

We are fitting the axle tubes which ran 15,000 miles in France to MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}'s car, so that they will get the maximum amount of running.
