test should be fitted with the new speedometer drive and the best 4 wheel brakes we know of at the time, but it should not wait for any further alterations.

It was further suggested that other 4 wheel brake parts, after they had been tested for 10,000 miles could be fitted to chassis being delivered to customers, and the decision regarding these parts should be left until after the test experience had been gained. Derby have sufficient information to enable them to order a set of off-set springs for test.

Mr. Day explained the modified arrangement of leverages for the servo, as recently asked for by Mr. Royce of which the scheme had been sent to Derby. It was agreed to push the test of this as quickly as possible.

20 HP. FRAME LENGTH.

This question was being left over pending completion of EAC.2. Mr. Day stated that with 'D' steering the pedals could be modified to permit of at least an inch more room for the body. It is desirable to shorten the steering column at the same time. This scheme will be sent through as soon as possible so that chassis can be built for test. Apparently this is all that can be done to help the situation at the moment. Further increase in body space can perhaps be obtained by alteration to the coachwork, and suggestions are being sent to enable a satisfactory cabriolet body to be fitted without lengthening the wheelbase. It is not however possible to gain anything on the pedals of 'B' chassis but we may be able to indicate a method of increasing the body overhang slightly.

The new deep frame 20 HP. chassis cannot be dealt with until after the EAC. drawings have been sent through without delaying the latter beyond the dates promised. In the meantime the question of increasing the length of the wheelbase may be decided.

20 HP. SIDE LEVER GEARBOX.

In memo. RL/ML.1.24., the WW. committee were instructed to advise Mr. Johnson when the designs of a 4-speed 20 HP. box could be ready if required. It was agreed that they could not be ready before the end of April if put in hand immediately after the EAC.1V. box is completed, this latter being promised for the end of Feb.

BRAKE PATENTS.

Re. Mr. Royce's remarks regarding patent questions we have supplied Mr. Claremont with complete information with regard to the schemes proposed up-to-date.
