RR 300*(120B) (SF 349 24-1-19) MP 200552 X. 1109- 88320 ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: EFC Order No: AA{D. Abbot-Anderson} 61 Customer's No. 1 Re: X 1109. X3573. Bakelite in Place of Mica and Micanite. The chief uses of mica and micanite on RR car are for condensers and commutators. For the former, Mr Olley mentions in Ey Z/G 21-12-20 that battery ignition condensers are being made in America with 'Bakelite', although mica is still retained for magneto condensers owing to its higher dielectric strength. It appears from Ey Feb 4/20 however that Bakelite condensers are used on the USA Bosch magnetos. For commutators, in the above mentioned Ey Z/G 21-12-20 it is stated Signed (Cont'd) This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
