We thank you for your letter reference Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/MJ of 2nd.January which has been noted by Mr.Russell Sharp. We are passing copy of your laboratory report along to our Chief Chemist for any comment that he may think would be helpful. In the meantime, we would say that we find the report of great interest but in view of the extensive use and approval of Mobiloil EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} by the leading axle manufacturers in the U.S.A., where the oil was first introduced owing to the wider use of hypoid gears, we think there are other factors of much greater importance such as the use of boiled oil as a medium for treating castings. One would naturally expect to produce effects as reported in a laboratory test by the use of any make of EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}lubricant such as used in hypoid axles, because the essential features of such lubricants are either the addition of a percentage of sulphur or chlorine, or both in an added form and not merely as a constituent part of the mineral oil employed in the manufacture of the lubricant. We understand that to some extent you experienced similar deposits in the Bentley gearbox when using Mobiloil "D", but in this case the oil Offices and Depots in every country in the World (Russia excepted) Mobiloil AND THE WORLD-WIDE ORGANIZATION OF THE VACUUM OIL COMPANY ARE ALWAYS AT YOUR SERVICE | ||
