To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Ey. c. to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} X336 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW.21.12.35. Phantom III Gudgeon Pin. Referring to E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.20.12.35. We think it would be unwise to alter these gudgeon pin pads on production before we have run them for a considerable distance. We have had no scoring on our experimental cars, and we do know that if we get these buttons too flat they are likely to turn round in thepin and wear themselves away.
