X4265 To CJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hsl/LG4.11.24. STANDARDISATION SHEET - X.4265. In our opinion, which is agreed to by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, this modification will not prove less reliable. The design of the pieces remain as at present except that the position of the lubricator is moved, and that holes are drilled to enable the lubrication to get to the working parts. Since the standardisation sheet was issued we have completed a further 1800 miles, making a total of 5,000 miles, and before any cars are sent away with this modified steering joint, 10,000 miles will have been completed.
