C.P.S.2. 20/25 HP. WITH STIFFER SPRINGS.

The 650 lbs. front springs F.57735 fitted to this car are apparently too weak. We have never tried these stiffer springs experimentally so we are not in a position to definitely give correct buffer clearances. The front buffer clearance of 1.300" should theoretically give the same immunity from buffer hitting as the standard spring with 1.950" buffer clearance.

In view of the result obtained on this chassis (the body we understand is 1 cwt. heavier than was anticipated) it appears that stronger springs should be fitted to give 1.300" minimum buffer clearance - we are given to understand that the clearances at present are in the neighbourhood of 1.062".

As it will be a matter of two to three weeks before these springs are obtained it may be necessary to increase the front damper loads to help the present springs, say to increase to 100 lbs H.P. 90 lbs L.P.
