| ( 3 ) 13) Roof Trimming. This was a detail fault and is now alright. 14) Air Trunk Ventilation. Special transverse ventilation tube definite improvement with offside trunk only working. The nearside trunk still delivers warm air so has been blocked up pending converting it into a car heater for winter use. The passengers' feet still become far too hot and there is need for more fresh air in front of the drivers and passengers' faces. A considerable amount of development work is required. 15) Modifications to Rear Seat & Arm Rests to improve Ingress & Exit. This is much better. 16) Sliding Seat Catches. These are now quite satisfactory. 17, 18, & 19. Require no further comment. Additional items are:- 20) Handbrake Shield. This was fitted at Derby. It is not satisfactory. It has fouled the ground several times, and when this occurs, the whole panel to which it is attached is dented upwards and the handbrake mechanism is fouled. We have removed the shield altogether and allowed the handbrake to project downwards through the slot. The Bowden control which is proving so satisfactory on 30.G.VII is required, as the present ratchet mechanism is likely to get damaged by stones. 21) Driving Mirrors. A mirror as intended for the production cars has been fitted. We have altered the position of this as discussed with Mr. Paulin, so as to come more to the right and reduce the blind spot. --------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M.
