MATERIAL FOR SERVICE BULLETIN.

Re: Oils Recommended.

We are now in a position to offer a larger and modified list of recommended oils.

This has been arrived at as the result of a great deal of experiment and we therefore recommend that oils not included in this list should not be used by owners, or recommended by our branches or agencies without reference to us.

(1). Engine.
We have arrived at the following approximate characteristics of oil which may be used in our engines both winter and summer

Viscosity at 100° F.{Mr Friese} 500 - 600 secs.
" " 212° F.{Mr Friese} - 55 - 58 "
Fire test 400° F
Flash point 360° F
Acidity not to exceed .06%.

The following oils have been found by us to satisfy these requirements and to be suitable for use summer and winter :-

Vacuum Mobiloil - "A"
Valvoline "Medium"
Socony "Medium"
Veedol "Heavy"
Tiolene "Heavy"
Texaco "Heavy"
Oilzum "Heavy"
Sunoco "Extra Heavy"
Supreme "Extra Heavy"

(2) Gear Box. Use a high grade steam
Rear Axle. cylinder oil all the year
Sphere and Engine Coupling. round.
Torque Tube Central Joint. 600-W made by the Vacuum
Wheel Hubs. Oil Company is used and
recommended by us, and is
widely distributed.
