X 1129 To EJJ. c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swd.1.1/JH.16.4.36. Bentley Single Cylinder. Will you please make the necessary arrangements for installation of tackle to rig up the O.H.C. Bentley single cylinder unit on No. 31.B. bed. The unit is now in the course of construction in the fitting shop. The tackle should include. (1) Oil cooler and pipes, with external oil tank. (2) Brown and Barlow flowmeter (4-42) and petrol pipes. (3) Controls and instrument board including (a) High and low pressure oil gauges. (b) Inlet and Outlet Negretti and Zambra thermometer for oil and water temperature. (c) Wiring and ignition switch. (d) Adjusting device for control of the petrol supply to the unit with necessary pipes. as per Aero unit. (4) Coupling shaft between water brake and unit, with pulley in case of supercharging.
