86051. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.17.2.34. BENTLEY INSTRUMENTS. Referring to your Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}6/I.16.2.34., I am sorry you could not get hold of me on Wednesday last. Unfortunately I have been away ill for a couple of days. I have now been in touch with the A.T.Co., through Messrs.Smiths and we find that the suggested conversion scheme presents much more serious difficulties than was at first realized, as it will necessitate removing both instruments and drilling fresh holes in the case and would certainly cost much more than 5/- per instrument. Unless it is absolutely necessary therefore we do not advise the changeover of existing dials as it would probably prove an expensive job. The A.T.Co., inform us that they can almost immediately changeover on the present current production to the new dials and we are looking into the question of whether this can be effected on production immediately. As you already probably know we have standardised the reversed marking dials but these were not immediately introduced due to the obvious avoidance of scrap. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
