QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS. Quarter ending 30.6.29.

40/50 HP. PHANTOM.

| Nature of Complaint. | No. of Cars. | Last Qtr's. Total. | Remarks. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brakes Squeaking. | W. 3.
N. 13.
P. 13.
Total: 29. | 29. | Anti-squeak device is now standard on production. We are finding that in spite of doing everything we know, including anti-squeak devices, dust excluders, and roughing liners, we can only effect a temporary cure. In some persistent cases we have had to fit new liners and change the brake drums. |
| Boiling Complaints. | W. 3.
N. 5.
P. 2.
Total: 10a. | 2. | A new type radiator matrix with increased water space is now fitted. Depots have received instructions how to deal with this. |
| Coupling Fabric Failures. | W. 2.
N. 16.
P. -
Total: 18. | 9. | Improved method of attaching plates now standard on production. |
| Clutch Jaggers and Slipping. | W. 7.
N. 23.
P. 5.
Total: 35. | 24. | A 50% mixture of oil and paraffin will overcome the jaggers, but if overdone will cause slipping. Phantom clutches appear to require a lot of attention to keep them in a really nice condition. |
