Nature of Complaint. | No. of Cars. | Last qtr's. Total. | Remarks.
-------------------|--------------|--------------------|----------
Coil Failures. | W. 4. N. 23. P. 4. Total 31. | 10. | Almost all these failures are due to the burning of the primary winding, which was replaced on series "F2" - Phantom, and "M" - 20 HP., by the present thicker primary. All the failures recorded are prior to these series, and the later type coil is always used for replacement.
Exhaust Cut-Out Sticks. | W. 5. N. 10. P. 1. Total 16. | 11. | New design standardised. This only occurs on the positive control type, when the operating rod is set incorrectly.
Exhaust Butterfly Choke Squeaking. | W. 3. N. 34. P. 1. Total 38. | 24. | We are fitting a lubricator to the spindle. This makes a slight improvement. N.B.G
Engine Overoiling. | W. 6. N. 14. P. -. Total 20. | 8. | Honing cylinder bores and fitting new pistons, also strutting outer walls, usually overcomes this. Improved design of cylinder now on production. Further experience is proving that strutting is giving the best results.
Engine Slipper Drive Seized. | W. 4. N. 17. P. 5. Total 26. | 18. | In spite of carrying out all the latest improvements, i.e. cotton duck friction washers and new spring poundage, we are still getting slipper drives which increase in loading and become uneven in action with running.
