We have quite recently received a number of copies of the Chloride booklet No.2009 of 1919, but we wish to make it clear that our note CK{Mr Clark}5/T23.12.19 was written some time previously to the receipt of this latest booklet. The recommendations in this particular No.2009 booklet differ materially from the recommendations contained in the previous one for 1918. Mr. Northey evidently had the advantage of us, in having received this booklet some time before we did. However, since their recommendations are now materially different, we are going to submit to the Chloride Company a copy of the instructions we had proposed to put in the instruction book, which instructions are, with slight modifications, the same as those contained in our sheets pp.22 to 221 above referred to, pointing out that these were based on their previous booklet, and in view of the different instructions they now send through, we should like them to say in what manner they would recommend our proposed instructions to be altered.

One point upon which their latest instructions differ materially from those given in their No.2004 catalogue, is that they do not suggest changing the acid, hence the reason for starting with acid of high tension in order to finish up with acid of correct density.

For the time being there would appear to be no harm in continuing with our instructions in their present
