It is proposed to convert the above chassis which is a E.2 Series to a L2 Series for 10,000 miles trials, it will be noticed that this chassis is 7 series old, but was built in July 1934. To convert this chassis means we shall have to make drastic alterations, such as:- Frames & Fittings. 1. New 5th Crossmember to suit flexible front engine mounting. 2. New gearbox crossmember to suit flexible rear engine mounting. 3. New 4th Crossmember to suit flexible exhaust suspension. 4. New front crossmember - dumb iron etc. to suit concealed front crossmember. 5. There are several minor alterations and additions which will mean plugging up and redrilling the frame. Wing Stays. New Wing Stays in conjunction with fitting of concealed front crossmember. Front Apron. New front Apron in conjunction with fitting of concealed front crossmember. Pedals. New Pedals cantilever type, in addition to the modifications required to suit Borg & Beck clutch. Dashbrackets & Footboards. New dashboard required - Noise insulated, new footboards and fittings to suit noise insulation scheme and gas tight joints - also isolated change speed lever. continued. | ||
