BENTLEY STARTER MOTOR & PETROL PUMP.

On the green Bentley, which is a stiffer unit than the black car, the starter motor does not spin the engine freely. We are quite certain that in cold weather there will be complaints of trouble in starting with this starter motor speed in conjunction with the mechanical petrol pump. Some time ago Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. put up a scheme for increasing the starting torque of the 25 H.P. motor by altering its internal construction. Judging by the results on Peregrine a great improvement can be made.

Furthermore, the A.C. people have found it necessary to incorporate a hand priming device for all their pumps. We therefore think that we should at least take the same precautions as they do to give the customer a chance to get fuel to xx the carburetters when the battery is down.
