We have not received a copy of BY/CGH{W Clough}10/G13231. referred to in your SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/E181231. adressed to BY/CGH.{W Clough}

We agree that a mock-up to N. sch. 3208. is urgently needed and 3 wks ago we sent Derby that sch. to enable them to produce one.

Since the proposed radiator top tank is more shallow than standard but less shallow than that of 18-G-IV. we do not think one can really use either of these radiators for the mock-up as suggested.

The curvature or degree of flatness of the top of the bonnet is entirely controlled by the difference in height between the top and side hinges, and this in turn by the depth of the radiator. top tank.

The design on N. sch. 3208. lies intermediate between the standard and 18-G-IV. in these respects.

The bonnet tops of most other similar cars such as Delage Hispano, Isotta, Humber, Daimler, are even flatter than that of 18.G. but it is the RR. tank and bonnet shapes with their hard clear cut lines that accentuate even the smallest changes and cause them to entirely alter the appearance.

If they may be permitted to do so I would like to be present when the model is viewed by yourself and Sales to receive your criticisms, and if necessary to attempt to correct the appearance by working on the model. This problem is most easily solved that way.

We are going ahead with the design of the dashboard casting and arrangement to dimensions of N. sch. 3208.

We cannot reduce the width of the dash without serious consequences. To reduce the dash width means to move in the pedals and column, and this latter means that the whole engine has to be handed for L.H. chassis - a feature we have so far avoided after a hard struggle.
