Acceleration tests have also been carried out
on Shardlow Rd., and an average figure taken both ways
with the following results :-

| | 10 - 30 MPH. | 10 - 40 MPH. | 10 - 50 MPH. | 10-60 MPH. | 10-70 MPH. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | Secs. | Secs. | Secs. | Secs. | Secs. |
| (1) Small Carbs. and small ind. pipe | 7.05 | 10.4 | 13.8 | 18.8 | 23.8 |
| (2) Large Carbs. and small ind. pipe | 7.2 | 10.7 | 14.45 | 19.2 | 24.4 |
| (3) Large Carbs. and large ind. pipe | 7.6 | 11.0 | 14.5 | 19.4 | 24.7 |

Conclusions.

As the figures shew, the small carburetters and
small induction pipe improve the slow running, and give a
slightly increased performance against the larger carburetters,
The most noticeable difference being the improved slow
running.

Attached are time and speeds taken at Brooklands
with the 3 systems. Changing the cylinder head and
carburetters from 3-B-IV ex B-56-BN {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} shewed a negligible
difference.
