Slow running tests to ascertain the values of -
(1) Small carburetters and small induction pipe.
(2) Large carburetters and small induction pipe.
(3) Large carburetters and large induction pipe.

Engine vibrations were recorded by chronograph, the ignition was set at 13° fully advanced on the hand control. Two readings were recorded in each test, with the ignition fully advanced hand control, and in the half advanced position T.D.C. on the flywheel, at the engine speeds of 450 & 350 r.p.m. respectively.

In all tests the tappets were set at exhaust .006", inlet .004"; the water temp. at the start of each test being 85° and rising to 95°C.
