(5) We shall offer to the works and Sales, only one variety of engine to the dimensions given above, which will be of the push rod type having aluminium crankchamber, cast iron cylinder block, and cast iron detachable head.

(6) We shall offer to the Sales and Works two methods of building the chassis behind the dash, the simpler and less expensive one would be that in which the gear box is carried on the engine, the rear axle is controlled by the half-elliptic road springs.

The Works and Sales will also have the oppor-tunity of testing and choosing the difference in the cost and value of this simple form of construction, and that already fitted to the "Goshawk" namely, the gearbox on the torque tube, spherical control of the back axle, and canti-lever springs.

It will be borne in mind that the simpler construction is departing from the R.R. standard schemes which every year are being more nearly followed by other makers.
