send almost immediately it should be possible for him to obtain the necessary information and be back with you in America prior to many (if any) of the complete cars reaching the hands of the purchasers.

You will recollect that, when you were over here in the early part of this year, you stressed the fact that under the arrangement of purchasing Derby-made chassis you were anxious to become retailers of RR cars and, therefore, in carrying out the above, you will appreciate that you would only be doing what is expected of a retailer who takes a comparatively small number of cars per annum as compared with the number which we are manufacturing for you.

It is, I think, hardly necessary for me to say that you should send a responsible man who will be able to pass on the information and instruct your various depots.
