| VOCO SPECIALITY PRODUCTS FOR 1933 The modern motor car usually embodies certain components needing special products for their proper functioning and until the introduction of the Voco range of Specialities the owner has sometimes been put to inconvenience on account of the difficulty or delay in obtaining the necessary supplies. The following products are available through all garages and dealers. Voco Shock Absorber Oil. This grade has been prepared specially for the replenishment of Luvax Shock Absorbers which are fitted to a large proportion of 1933 models. Proper operation, and, therefore, comfortable suspension can only be obtained from Luvax Shock Absorbers if the units are replenished when necessary with a suitable fluid, and ordinary oils are quite unsatisfactory for this purpose. In many instances the shock absorber filling plug must of necessity be somewhat inaccessible and to render the task of replenishment as simple as possible a special pump has been designed by Vacuum engineers; this may be fitted in the tin in which the fluid is supplied and is of great assistance. Voco Shock Absorber Fluid is also available in smaller quantities in collapsible tubes. Voco Brake Fluid. has been specially prepared for the replenishment of Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes. The essential qualities of such a fluid are freedom of flow in conditions of extreme cold and entire absence of any corrosive action on the metal parts exposed to the fluid. It does not react with the rubber pistons and tubes employed in this and similar systems. Ordinary oils are, of course, extremely unsuitable for these applications. Voco Penetrating Oil. There are many parts of the modern car where, whilst lubrication is most desirable, it is impracticable to make elaborate provision for the introduction of an ordinary oil or grease. An example of such components are the road springs, which are frequently neglected and, therefore, become rusted to such an extent that the comfort of the suspension is seriously impaired. Voco Penetrating Oil has been specially prepared to creep between the surfaces of such parts and an application will be found to restore the action of the springs to their original efficiency and to obviate completely all squeaks. In this instance also a special pump has been designed to enable inaccessible parts of the chassis to be reached with the minimum of exertion. Voco Penetrating Oil is also extremely effective for stopping bad squeaks as a slight application between such parts as Wing Valances, etc., does much to cure objectionable noises. Gargoyle Volocite Oil D is a high grade spindle oil of relatively low viscosity which should be employed for magnetos where these are fitted with oil cups, and for all other parts where a light oil is desirable: e.g., suction operated wind screen wipers, door locks and hinges, bonnet fasteners, etc. etc. An important use is for the piston in S.U.carburetters; ordinary engine oil should not be used as it upsets the proper functioning of the device. Gargoyle Upper Cylinder Lubricant. This has been specially prepared and its use is strongly recommended in new engines or in units which have just been overhauled. In such instances the admixture of a small quantity of Gargoyle Upper Cylinder Lubricant to the petrol has been found efficacious in assisting the maintenance of a proper film of lubricant on the upper part of the cylinder bore and piston rings. It also assures freedom from valve sticking which is more likely to occur with new engines. 7-10-32 | ||
