Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} SPT. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} x. from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} /BRG x5770 See me Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} You are possibly aware that GUB-5 chassis has been allotted to me and will be erected shortly. Is it possible to get Governor control Dampers on this chassis and is it possible to get anything that is nearly standardised on it, in short, it is advisable and I know you will all agree with me, that it is as up-to-date as possible, so that we can get the fullest advantage out of it. It will be quite right not to wait for a 10,000 miles test, because this chassis will always be with us and will be a very useful one for testing improvements. PS. Any parts that have not been standardised and are very obvious should be left until the complete car comes to Derby, otherwise coachbuilders will get advance information.
