Radiators

Following our recent conversation, we have asked Marstons, of Wolverhampton, to proceed with manufacture of a Copper Film type Radiator Block i.e., the American "Harrison" type, and same should be available in about 14 days.

This block is 3-1/8" against our standard width of 3-1/4", and we are asking them to make the sample block to their standard, i.e., 3-1/8".

The price will be about 50/- per complete block, including air under water test, thorough washing and drying, etc., as compared with the figure of £4. 7. 6d to £4.10.0d we are paying for our present standard bulged copper hexagon honeycomb tubes.

This latter price is for the Tubes alone, and does not include the cost of assembly, solder, etc. etc.

This Harrison type film is crimped from strip .004" thick. Our present Radiator Tubes are .006".

Whether it is possible to repair these film type Radiators as readily as our honeycomb is doubtful.

In addition to the block, I am asking Messrs. Marston to send us samples of the strip itself before crimping and after crimping, so that we can see the actual stages of manufacture.

Sample block herewith to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Will he kindly pass same to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, who doubtless will be interested. BY has already seen it.

ROY{Sir Henry Royce}
