Our 10,000 mile car suffered from water over-heating when idling and when running at low speeds. This was traced to the clearance between the rotor and the casing being .045 so at slow speeds the pump rotated without circulating the water. The clearance has been reduced to .001 and the pump is running like this in France but we should consider that this is too tight. However, we think the limits on the drawing should very definitely ensure that these clearances must not be too great. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
