GOSHAWK - CONTROLS.

Since seeing the Goshawk Limousine at WW. Mr. Royce has decided that we ought to adopt a spring on the throttle valve spindle so as to avoid variations in the setting of the carburetter for slow running from the steering wheel controls.

We therefore send you drawing No. Lec 1603 shewing how this should be applied. We have worked out the proportions of a tension spring based to some extent on the torque given by the existing spring. We do not find that we have any spring in existence down here which is suitable. If however you have one in Derby we should be glad to know which one it is with a view to applying it.

A further drawing will follow shewing the longitudinal control shaft moved downwards vertically about 1.4" to suit the new form of steering box bracket.

This drawing that is to follow also shews instructions for setting the angular positions of levers on the control mechanism, which apply to both future and existing chassis.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
