Continental Phantom II Car.

Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has sent you with Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/15.3.30 Drawings N. Sch.3087 and 3088 shewing the revised coachwork for the Continental Car.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has authorised the production of a car of this design.

Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} said: "We anticipate that this car, when perfected, can be made to have a really remarkable performance." Because of this the car is to be allocated for special propaganda work on the Continent - firstly in Biarritz during the August Season, and afterwards in Spain and elsewhere, where special performance is likely to bring us extra sales. We understand that the car will then be allocated for R's use at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence next Winter.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} assumes that a Short Chassis will be allotted from production, and modified as mentioned in Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/15.3.30. It is considered desirable to give the chassis an experimental number. We should be glad if you would have us advised of the number allotted, and let us know when the chassis is expected to be ready.

Those concerned at Sales are very interested in this car, its low over-all height, and Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s assurance that there is "ample head room over both the front and rear seats - in fact, more than we get in some of our normal cars."
