61583 Expl. Dept. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ. 27th. February 1934. Messrs. C.C.Wakefield & Co. Ltd., Wakefield House, 30 & 32, Cheapside, LONDON.E.C.2. Dear Sirs, We have arranged with Messrs. Ransome & Marles of Newark to carry out some comparative tests on bearings with Whitmore's oil and Wakefield's E.P. lubricant. A certain amount of doubt still exists as regards the action of these oils on bearings and we are anxious to get the ball bearing manufacturers satisfied that E.P. has no detrimental effect. We should be very grateful therefore if you would arrange to send 5 gallons of this oil to Messrs. Ransome & Marles. They require this quantity because they have to circulate it and arrange to keep it even temperature. Thanking you in anticipation, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
