Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 5th May, 1937. W.Manning, Esq., Messrs. Briggs Motor Bodies, Ltd., Chequers Lane, DAGENHAM. Dear Manning, I do not know whether you will remember me when I visited the Briggs body plant at Detroit three or four years ago when you were interested in custom built coachwork. I got back from America about three weeks ago, and Olley asked to be remembered to you. As you know, we are getting steel bodies made for us by Park Ward's in small quantities, but are contemplating a somewhat bigger production in the future, and are interested to know whether there are any better methods of getting steel bodies in our sort of numbers. We should, therefore, very much like to have a talk to you in the immediate future, or, better still, would it be possible for you to come to Derby and have a look round the Factory ? If you could come over night we should be very pleased to put you up. Yours sincerely, | ||
