RE: CONTACT BREAKER LEVER SPRING.

Referring to LE.5/C.6.1.37. the spring returned was much too hard due to serious under tempering.

I am instructing the Works to return our stock which all seem to have a similar fault, and have quoted a vickers hardness range to which we must accept or reject the parts in future.

In addition, we have written the suppliers Perry's Steel Nib Co. and given them a temporary temper-ature range to which they must work as well as the Vickers Hardness numbers to which they must conform.

We are then certain we shall obtain springs consist-ently treated.
