GOSHAWK II. CHASSIS WIRING.

We send herewith N.scheme 1393 shewing the new bracket for carrying the wiring tube across the 3rd cross member. Mr. Royce did not like the aluminium brackets clamped round the tube which are now used, and wished us to braze a ferrule into the tube, and put a single bolt through.

We also think, to be consistent, we ought to dispense with the aluminium brackets holding the wiring tubes along the side channel, and replace them by steel brackets. We have accordingly shewn you three such brackets on the L.H. side of the drawing.

We should like you to tell us what you consider the comparative cost in this case of using aluminium die castings, and steel drop forgings. If the latter pans out very much more costly, we should reconsider in the case of those carried along the chassis frame.
