re- 34-EX.

It was a great disappointment to us to have to return this car to you to-day because troubles had developed in connection with the gearbox, clutch and possibly other parts, having regard to the noise inside the car at 65 m.p.h.and thereabouts.

Having kept people waiting so long to try an Enclosed Limousine, and then having to put them off again, is really rather disastrous. Many have waited a long time also to be able to try a car with the one dual down-draught carburetter, and now we have had to hastily summon 35-EX to come back to London to the rescue, having the old scheme of carburation.

LA{L. A. Archer} has doubtless reported to you all the defects from which the car is suffering, which of course will be obvious to you, and whilst it may be too early yet for you to tell us how long you want to keep the car, we hope by the week-end you will be able to rectify the troubles and let it come back.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} hopes you will be able to tell us at the meeting on Wednesday next the cause of, and remedies for, the troubles, and possibly if the car is not ready before then I might be able to bring it back with me on Wednesday after-noon unless you can sent it back earlier, which we should of course prefer.
