For Rolls Royce cars I think you would find the Chassis type most suitable, and certainly easier to fit, in fact if you standardised them, the extra fitting cost would be negligible. as just as do nearly all the Continental Car Manufacturers, you would doubtless incorporate in the design of the Car the necessary attaching lug on the Axle. The dimensions of the Suspension Box are the same for Chassis or for Axle type. The only Blue Prints I have by me at the moment giving dimensions are some got out by Wolseleys who equip their 6 cyl. model with our Suspensions, and I enclose these, as they give you all the dimensions I think you want. I ask nothing better than to be allowed to come down to Derby with some Sets of Suspensions, to wait at your Works whilst they are being fitted to a Chassis, and to undertake the tests with you, choosing for the test the worse possible roads in your District, and loading the Chassis of course with its normal load. I do not think it would take long to convince you of the extraordinary difference it would make not only in the riding of Rolls Royce cars but in the general comfort, also without doubt the extra economy in the upkeep particularly as regards Tyres. We could also easily arrange to test over a certain bit of road at certain speed with the Houdailles attached, and then disconnect the ball joint and make a similar test.
