X6051 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/AD. April 8th, 1932. The A.T. Speedometer Co. Chronos Works, North Circular Rd. London, N.W.2. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of the 4th inst. ref. EEB/LAH. we regret that we cannot agree to your remarks that the needle was bent and caused the scale discrepancy we reported, because the same discrepancy still exists on the instrument but you have now made is so that the instrument reads fast earlier on the scale. The same cumulative percentage scale error, however, still exists. With regard to the second paragraph in your letter, we would remark that all our speedometer revs. per mile tests are carried out on a dead synchronous A.C. motor with geared counter attached. As you no doubt realise, we are extremely careful with all tests on the accessories on our cars that the accuracy of our product is maintained. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
