To EY. From G.W.H. X7080 filing GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/MJ.19.8.29. S. S. CARBURETTER. THROTTLE CONTROL SPRING. ----------------------- X7080. We had trouble on 21-EX during the tests in France with firing in the silencer after the throttle was closed. It was noticed that the load closing the throttle was on the light side. We have, since returning to the works, found that the throttle spring E.73299 had stretched and taken a permanent set .100" longer, which was sufficient to allow gas to be drawn past the throttle. This is the first case noted, but we should like to know whether the spring in question is over stressed and likely to occur on production cars. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
