Petrol Tank Feed Pipe on Wraith.

Complete failure of the petrol supply was experienced twice on the same chassis when the tank was nearly empty. On the second failure the trouble was found to be caused by the feed pipe entering the recess in the drain plug and forming an almost perfect seal. The pipe is held by a clip on the anti surge tower and is similarly secured on all the experimental chassis where we have had no trouble.

To prevent this trouble occuring again a pin is being fitted across the drain plug on 'A' and 'B' series there being still 109 to do.

For 'C' series the pipe is being sweated into the clip. In the first place the design is at fault as it allowed the possibility of this pipe entering the recess in the plug, but as the pipe is an almost perfect fit in the plug only perfect alignment between the two would allow the trouble to develop.
