To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re American Contract Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17/E7..C..O.
For the Manufacture of R30 Chassis. 26/7/20

We have, as you know, agreed certain items definitely.

Mr.Olley has brought over a long list of points which he wishes to discuss, and I feel that it is of the greatest importance that all concerned should clearly have before them what we have undertaken to supply, and notes on this have already been circulated, and that it should be made clear that, while we are only too pleased to discuss matters with Oy, in regard to other items, the officials concerned must be careful not to complicate the position by allowing items discussed to delay the proceeding with the experimental work etc. What I have in mind is that, if we are not very careful, we shall find that by reason of conversations with various officials, delays take place and, when trouble arises, Oy. will be the person who will be said to have caused the delay etc.

The following are taken from Oy's notes:

Items already agreed. Remarks.

1. Exhaust heated carburetter. He wishes to discuss speed of
warming up and use with
American fuel.
This of course is OK.

2. 19 x 7 S.E.Wheels & tyres. He wishes to discuss possible
effect on shimmy, riding,
steering lock and road
clearance.
This of course is OK and will
probably arise as a result
of the experimental work.

3. Bumpers - means for attaching. He wishes to discuss the
question of strength of frame
for American bumper tests.
This seems OK.

4. Switches for stoplight, He wishes to discuss this and
backing light etc. the question of putting the
cables out of sight.
This is OK.
