Our Ref............ TS/HTB/DT 6th February, 1936 Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Attention: Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Ll.Smith. BURY SMTH Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 5th instant in which you confirmed your visit to our Works on the 4th, and note that you are returning all model 10 A-3 Clutches previously delivered for production purposes so that same may be rebuilt with Eyebolts made from your S.82 material. We are further pleased to have your agreement that we continue with the existing design of Eyebolt. In connection with the question of Heat-treatment of Eyebolts made from your S.82 material, we shall look forward to receiving your further advice in due course. With regard to the concluding paragraph of your letter, we assure you that the 11 A-3 Clutch to which you refer is the one covered by your Order No.10359 dated February 2nd, 1936, and which was taken back by Mr. Smith on February 4th. In conclusion we would take this opportunity of advising you that we have now succeeded in obtaining a suitable steel for the Compound Cushion Segments of the special 13½" "Long" type Driven Plate, which you ordered for experimental purposes, and will endeavour to place same in your hands at the earliest possible moment. Yours faithfully, BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED H.T. Barker | ||
