X7655 Expl: Dept: Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. 4th. April 1929. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Mr. Hancock from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Failure of Starter Motor on 22-EX. With regard to your report stating that the large bearing had seized and galled, we should like to know whether there was any oil on this bearing when it was dismantled. As there is a drip plug feed to this bearing, we should like to know whether the failure can be attributed to the oil not reaching this part. We are anxious to have a complete report on the failure of the starter motor because this unit, as fitted to 22-EX, is ordered up for production. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
