Mr. Hancock from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We are still anxious to hear from you the reason for your saying that the Bijur system is not working satisfactorily on 22-EX car. As regards the failure of the starter motor. It has been arranged to change the material of the bush. Those which have been produced so far, the bushes were made from drawn bar. It is now proposed to make these in chilled P.B. bar. We are sending to you a new end plate fitted with a bush so that you can fit it to the starter motor. If has been arranged that in future there shall be ample slack on the pitch line between the pinion and the gear. We think it is this tightness which has caused the bush to seize. We should be glad if you could let us know the possibility of you stoning down the pinion which you have there because we think it is useless to attempt to judge the performance of the starter motor whilst the gears are tight in mesh.
