WST Please discuss x6092. To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/AIG/19.10.36 Lucas Voltage Regulators DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}880 we, You will recollect last July Messrs. Lucas stated they were reducing their production of the double contact type Regulator as they were definitely of opinion their new Regulator would prove an advance in design and performance, but the Rolls Company at that date were not in a position to standardise this later type Lucas Regulator, due to other difficulties. Would you kindly advise if the position has now altered, as there is a difference of some 7/6d in price between our present standard Regulator and the later type Messrs. Lucas are now producing in bulk. If such is not the case, when do you think such change is possible? We can then balance our orders accordingly. Roy{Sir Henry Royce} ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} We have not yet received the six new type regulators promised by Messrs Lucas due to certain difficulties at their end. If we had the regulators to-day it would be at least six months before we could say whether we like them better than the C.A.V. now used. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WST | ||
