X.3908 Extract from R7/G30.12.21 X.4219. (20) ENGINE FUMES ON 40/50 CHASSIS. X.3908 To deal with this matter I think that the carburetter air inlet connection is better than the breather type and it can be arranged with a slight depression to prevent fumes escaping from the main bearing oil connection uptakes in the crankcase, and fitted with a gauze to prevent ignition of petrol vapour in crankcase. I should like particulars of the device rigged up on the chassis. It will be necessary to prepare some pieces suitable for production. The parts already in existance are no doubt good enough for dealing with the immediate complaints of customers. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
