RE D.P.P. CAR.

Regarding the 10.HP. D.F.P. and in reply to C9/C25122.
It will not be of much use having the car at the date mentioned. We either want it before then, or we can wait for an experimental body. We would like to put on it one of the standard bodies we are thinking of adopting for the Swallow.
We think the hood and screen shown in the D.F.P. Catalogue are quite unsatisfactory, and the shape of the body inelegant, hence we think the arrangement they offer would not be of any experimental value to us.
Therefore it seems that if we could get it at once we had better take the chassis only, and if so let Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} or EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} try it and give their approval, and take it or send it to Derby, to be fitted with a temporary 2 seater body as quickly as possible, and then driven to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town for reference as to strength of parts, etc.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}

P.S. In the meantime we could get a body put in hand at once of the clever smaller coachbuilders which we hope may be useful in building bodies for our own chassis and so at once get along with the coachwork models.
