Y4117 D/BP C. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. EFC. BY9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 15.2.26. CHASSIS 77-LK.{L. King} GEORGE LEE ESQ. BATTERY. Referring to D/BP15/CW.11.2.26. I do not agree that a matter of this description should be settled between the customer and the firm who have happened to supply the battery. If there is no evidence that the battery has been misused by the customer, then it is certain that 28 months is approximately only half the life that the battery ought to have exhibited, under which circumstances the customer would undoubtedly expect to receive a battery for payment of not more than half the original amount. In regard to our travelling inspectors recommending our customers to go direct to the battery makers, one sees no objection to this in regard to the replacement of a battery or putting it right, but when it comes to a question of the charge which is to be made, then this Company ought to have a voice in the matter, in order to safeguard the interests of our customers. I attach to Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}'s copy of this note D/BP's original memo, so that he will be able to see the whole story. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
