X1588. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} e to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}10/MG27.2.24. Messrs. Edward Joy & Sons Ltd, Leeds, write:- "Meanwhile, to form some small connection with your much "respected firm we should take it as a great favour if you "would put our "Petroyle" to a careful test. "We know from critical quarters that this composition does "materially effect the easy running of an engine, and it would "seem a reasonable conclusion seeing that the lubricant reaches "such parts as cannot in the bounds of possibility be fed by "the lubricant from the crank chamber. "With this in view we send you with pleasure a free 32 oz. "tin on which you will see instructions for use, say 1 oz. to "two gallons of Petrol. The price to you would be 33.1/3% off "the figures shown on enclosed card, and 5% extra as Manufacturers. "If you find this of use either in your works or for "recommendation to your clients it will indeed be a pleasure to "us to serve you." A portion of the sample herewith for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} I understand Messrs. Joy claim it is superior to the "Miracle". Joy of Leeds are cousins to Basil Joy who was down here last week at the Engineers' Meeting. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} SAMPLE to accompany this Memo. | ||
