Re: Chassis No.GFT-43 - The Marquis of Cholmondeley.

We have this morning issued Erection instructions covering the above new allotment although we have not yet received details of the accessories required, but in the meantime arrangements can be made for the erection of the chassis to be proceeded with.

The special features specified by Lord Cholmondeley are as follows and will you please let us know if these can be embodied when we will issue the necessary covering instructions.

RACING LOCK NUTS.

Presumably Lord Cholmondeley has in mind an arrangement quicker in operation than the Dunlop locking device. Does the Rudge-Whitworth type mentioned in BY/Cgh{W Clough}4/WL-931 answer this description? We believe there is obtainable a device known as the "Knock-on" which is possibly that to which the customer refers. Will you please say if you consider this to be a suitable type?

SNAP FILLER CAP FOR PETROL.

Will you confirm please that you are quite clear as to what is required by this?

CLUTCH STOP.

Lord Cholmondeley writes - "Can one have clutch stop or clutch so arranged to be able to change up through the gears with the least possible delay? If one has to pause too long to get a silent change one loses speed."
Will you please keep this point carefully in view.

For your information we also attach hereto copy of Sales memo Cll/C.8.9.31. for your attention. Apparently some previous communication has been sent in connection with this order and they refer us to various memo's addressed to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} particularly
contd.
