| Experimental Department. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}4/ET. Your ref. WMH/GN. Attention of Mr. W. Martin-Hurst. The British Thermostat Co., Ltd., Teddington Works, Windmill Road, Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex. 21st August, 1940. Dear Sir, With reference to your letter dated 19th August, Mr. Robotham thanks you for your letter and wishes the writer to communicate with you as follows. Regarding your friend whose car had to be rebored at 22,000 miles, we would like, if possible, to get hold of his rebored block and chrome plate the bores. No extra charge would be made for the work entailed, as this would constitute an experiment, if the customer in question was in agreement with the suggestion. Our experience with the process to date has been most satisfactory and we would like to take the opportunity of running a block so treated under the conditions experienced by your friend which, as stated in your letter, produce a fairly rapid state of wear. We are sending a copy of this letter to our London Depot, and would be obliged if you would confirm with them the customer's name, so that they know what we are talking about. At the same time we would like confirmation from the customer that he agrees or otherwise with our suggestion. Yours faithfully, | ||
