LUCAS HEAD LAMPS.

Replying to your Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/FHA.6/HR.22.12.33 the complaint you have received suggests that this customer has one of the latest fluted Prismatic glasses such as is now being fitted to the Bentley Chassis and which has been the subject of a complaint by us to Messrs.Lucas.

We have found that this type of lamp glass is useless for high speed driving at Night and we are at the moment negotiating with Messrs. Lucas in an attempt to get them to modify these lamps by altering the optical arrangements on the front glass.

We suggest that this customer be advised to have the front glass of his headlamps changed to the ordinary plain Lucas Diffusa Glass. This will give him a good beam ahead with very little spread.
