31st August, 1937.

Vacuum Oil Company Limited,
Caxton House,
Westminster. S.W.1.

For the attention of Mr. O.T. Jones.

Dear Sirs,

We are sending you to-day a sample of Hypoid gear lubricant which has run 6,000 miles in a Hypoid axle on one of our French tests.

We should be glad to have your opinion of the state of this lubricant when you have had time to test it.

We wonder how you are progressing with the tests on the two samples of a competitive oil we sent you some time ago.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
